Development journal

The milestones in building Weblym, documented transparently.

  1. Greater search visibility

The home page gets its own addresses in Spanish and English, and describes the platform to search engines more precisely.

  2. Section layouts and brand identity

Every section gains several layouts designed for desktop, tablet and mobile. Brand identity lets you redefine the colours and typefaces of the whole store in one step.

  3. Shopping cart and customer accounts

Published stores gain a shopping cart, customer accounts and the checkout, which does not process charges yet.

  4. The section-based editor becomes the standard

A change of approach: stores are built from designed sections that keep their integrity in any format, instead of freely positioned elements. From this date, stores are saved and published with this model.

  5. Store publishing

Stores can be published at their own address, with a header and footer shared by all their pages.

  6. Product catalog and new home page

Products are stored persistently, together with their images. The new home page, the contact form and sign-up with the 20 % launch discount go live.

  7. New editor interface

The editor adopts the design shown on the home page: the page in a central window and the assistant to one side.

  8. Free positioning of elements

First version of the editor with free positioning of every element. The experience gained led to the change of model on 18 October.

  9. Responsive design

Pages begin to adapt to desktop, tablet and mobile, with independent adjustments for each format.

  10. Editor integrated into the platform

Every store gets a direct shortcut to the editor from the dashboard.

  11. Project kick-off

    Development of Weblym begins.
